Anglo Renewables is delighted to announce that planning consent has been granted for the 19MWp Hebden Green Solar Farm in Cheshire. This is a significant milestone for the project and reflects the hard work and dedication of our team.
The solar farm, located south of Woodford Lane West, Hebden Green, Winsford, will generate enough electricity to power approximately 5,500 homes and offset around 9,400 tonnes of CO2 annually.
The project will help Cheshire West and Chester Council tackle the climate emergency as one of the highest emitting local authorities in the UK. Specifically, the solar farm will contribute 4.7% of the council’s 2030 target solar PV generation.
The solar farm will deliver benefits to the local community through community benefit fund. This fund will be invested in suitable community projects, directly benefiting local residents.
The project also includes significant plans for biodiversity enhancements such as new hedgerow planting and wildflower meadows, demonstrating our commitment to maximising the benefits of our solar farm projects. The landscaping and ecology works proposed will result in a 63% Biodiversity Net Gain for habitat units, 11% increase in hedgerow units and 132% increase in river units.
This project is not subject to transmission grid reinforcement delays, and we are excited to bring this project to fruition to deliver its multiple benefits.
