We are pleased to announce that our planning application for the Prentice's Farm Solar Farm has been approved following a resubmission of the originally refused application.
This marks a significant milestone for Anglo Renewables and a major step forward in supporting Maldon District Council's commitment to a carbon-neutral future.
Located on 33 hectares of land east of Crows Lane, Woodham Ferrers, Essex, the solar farm will generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power approximately 5,200 homes per year, offsetting approximately 4,500 tonnes of CO2 annually.
Benefits of the Prentice's Farm Solar Farm:
Environmental Impact: The project will contribute to Maldon District Council's goal of becoming a carbon-neutral authority by 2030 and will enhance local biodiversity through ecological enhancements and new hedgerow planting.
Community Benefits: A community benefit fund will be established to invest in local projects, directly benefiting residents.
Sustainable Land Use: The land will continue to be utilised for grazing and biodiversity purposes, ensuring a sustainable and multi-functional approach.
A Sustainable Future:
The Prentice's Farm Solar Farm is a great example of how in the correct location renewable energy can help us tackle the climate emergency and create a more sustainable future. James Stone, Managing Director at Anglo Renewables says “I am thrilled to announce that our resubmitted planning application for the Prentice's Farm Solar Farm has been approved at planning committee. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. The solar farm is another boost to renewable energy in the UK and will help us to achieve our net zero targets."
